Grossglockner is the most popular and picturesque Alpine road in Austria: 48 km through the Hohe Tauern National Park,  36 curves and the highest peak at 2504 m.

This road was built between 1930 and 1935 in order to increase the attractiveness of Austria and attract tourists. Currently, it is visited by about 1 million tourists a year.
